Serendipity or divine intervention?

well...i usuallydont watch biblicalmovies because the charecters are new and the subject is new to understand

but i decided to watch "the last temptation of christ" mainly because its a scorcese movie.the movie considers jesus christ as human and just makes us feel for the "human" jesus who undergone the pain for us...to reedeem us.when we see jesus as a human...we feel his pain.

now...at the climax...when jesus is crucified...suddenly a red coloured light appears and the screen is completely with white colour ...some other colours..remember ..exactly after the jesus christ closes his eyes on the cross

i assumed scorcese made that colours ...as he is known for this type of climaxes...u cant decipher exactly what he tells in the climax

but when i read the trivia portion of the movie in imdb...it says

"According to director Martin Scorsese, the last shot was *not* intentional. The camera used to film this scene was faulty and light leaked in onto the the film, causing a white-out at the exact point in the scene at which Jesus expires, and this was not discovered until the film was processed. Serendipity or divine intervention, take your pick. "

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095497/trivia

what do u call....serendipity or dinine intervention

i wouldnt call it serendipity for sure

infact i have myself experienced some divine force...i shall explain it in some other post.

ennamo poda

when i was younger, say 9 or 10 years old,i used to assume things...
such as

1.back then radio was the main source for listening to songs...mainly all india radio.
they used to announce " ippoludhu paadikondirupavargal s.p.balasubramaniamum chithravum"( இப்பொழுது பாடிகொண்டிருப்பவர்கள் எச்.பி.பாலசுப்ரமணியமும் சித்ராவும்)...i used to wonder how they sing these many songs sitting in that radio station lively .. without any mistake....that too daily morning..HEHE

2.in subjects theyve taught that taj mahal lies in the bank of yamuna.but in picture of taj there is just a small water body in rectagular shape...i thought thats yamuna river and shahjehan saw taj using that when he was imprisoned...hehe...mouna ragan song paatha apuramthan therinjudhu...yamuna taj mahaluku pinnaadi odudhunnu...idha munnaadiye evanavadhu solliruka koodadha
epdida unnala mattu ipidi yosikka mudiyudhu...ennamo poda

Vintage Sachin and his unbeatable record

Well...first of all I shall make you clear abt my "sachin fanaticism".I used to switch off the television when sachin was given out.A cover drive by sachin for a single is more effective for me than a boundary hit by another batsman.I remember those good old days where I'd cut sachin's images from whichever source ...let it be magazine or newspaper as a regular deed.
Why should i talk about the vintage sachin now...actually whats this vintage sachin for a fan like me.the 93 he got against south africa is the answer folks.its not about runs....its the way he got it.the shots and the bowlers against whom he got it.My favourite shot of sachin is his hook shot against fast bowlers. He hooked a top quality bowler like ntini with such ease whenever he got the oppurtunity. The pitch is really supporting the bowlers.the ball moved off the pitch greatly. But sachin really played like a "master batsman. He reached his 15000 in this match.I really dreamed abt sachin reaching this feat in the world cup which is a bigger stage and many could acknowledge it.But this great achievement was showcased before a meagre crowd in ireland.

Tony greig has commented that sachin is not the best one-day batsman and his achievement must be put into perspective. He said that bevan is a better oneday player than sachin. Now if my memory serves right...this same tony greig while commentating the famous sharjah match against australia where sachin ravaged australian bowling said "this little man is the nearest thing to b bradman that has ever been".that single day of commentary by tony greig made him my most favourite commentator.especially his words.."what a player...whaaaaaat a player".
well records are meant to be broken.but the influence he had on indian cricket....think about an indian team without sachin in 90's...we would have hit the rockbottom like zimbabwe.complete idiots like manjeraker, jadeja, azharudhin occupied the slots.its sachin who made us proud.let it be 96 world cup...he is the top scorer of all players...or 2003 world cup...he is the top scorer and achieved the man of the series award.

There may be a player who would surpass the records of sachin in future.but the impact sachin created among the indian crowds and the hope that indian crowd pinned on sachin tendulkar couldnt be surpassed by anyone.thats his unbeatable record.

TOP 10 CLIMAXES

this is cinema climax! For anyother climax doubts contact "salem sivaraj sithavaithiyar"
Coming to the point...Im not salem si....adada....Im not a critic like our dhadi madhan to say "இந்த விஷயத்த நான் நோட் பண்ணேன்(periya scientific discovery).இத இந்த மாதிரி செந்ஜிருகலாம்.ஆனா அந்த மாதிரி செந்ஜுடாங்க" etc just what i like is listed!

மேற்கொண்டு மொக்கய போடாம list-s பாப்போம்.

1.The Bicycle Thief:
Best climax I have ever watched. Not just for its unexpected end...something more than that! But for this climax this film would had been another normal movie for me(note pannunga..."for me").After watching the climax surely it will make u think "whom the title actually refers to?"

note:As its an Italian movie I downloaded this movie expecting subtitles .but the downloaded version is completely italian without subtitles(நமக்கு இங்லீஷ் படத்துக்கே subtitle தேவை).So I Downloaded subtitles separately in a notepad and then and there looked at it(என்னமோ EXAM-கு படிக்குறா மாதிரி).Fortunately the movie is just abt searching...so not many dialogues

2.Pushpak(pesum padam):

The film ends with no traces of what had happened through out the movie.Everything happened just washes away like a dream. The film ends where it starts. One of the best dark humour Ive watched(நான் என்னமோ நூறு படம் பாத்த மாதிரி).

3.Saw:

I am challenged to find the villain before watching the movie. So I suspected everybody in the movie(including a innocent little girl.....ஒருவேள அதீத சக்தி உள்ள குழந்தையோன்னு ...ஹிஹி)...except the culprit.Stunned by the climax.

4.King of comedy:
A scorcese - De niro combo.A dark humour with a different climax. We laugh at deniro through out the movie by seeing his difficulties. In last scene he explains his terrible life in a comic way to become a "king of comedy"...!

5.Life is Beautiful:
Watch it

6.Moondram pirai:

Kamals acting and music are top notch. But if u look while sridevi is there in the station...its jam packed with so many noises.when the train is gone kamal would be be shown all alone in that big station walking to a chair with noone around just to depict the loneliness after her departure.wonderful climax.

7.One flew over the cuckoos nest:
Jack nicholson is just awesome.climax...one of the best.

8.Kudaikul mazhai:
If I had watched this movie in theatre..I would have came home in interval(சில படம்லாம் கால்மணி நேரத்துல வெளிய வந்திருக்கேன்).TV la paathanala kantinue pannen...unexpected logical climax!Nice one.

9.Kireedam:
The photograph of a person who is to become a police inspector is used in the accused list of the police station in climax.Mohal lal is mind blowing.

10.shawshank redemption:
An unexpected pleasent climax...the movie is all abt hope..and ends with the final word hope

fight club, the usual suspects, devar mahan, taxi driver, keladi kanmani, kurudhipunal,Elipathayam, sethu, johnny, the whale rider are some other movies that had good climaxes

Recent Attractions-Malayalam movies.

As a result of being vetti for so long(porandhadhula irundhe apdithan),Ive come across few interesting things in recent past...

first one malayalam movies...

Dont think I know malayalam. Then u could ask how I could understand those movies?...I also had the same doubt(ennamo engilipees padam mattum full-a velangi paakura maari..ellam oru kuthu madhippa purinjukka vendiyadhuthan!).But after watching the movies i understood that there is no big difference between Tamil and Malayalam. The malayalam movies that I saw are mainly mohan lals movies like kilukkam, bharatham, sanmasullaaruku samadhanam etc and few cult classics like elipathayam!

regarding those Lal movies...especially kilukkam...the comic sense of Lal and jagathy srikumar is just awesome. This man jagathy srikumar is non-stop riot..completely hilarious...I watched certain scenes of kilukkam over and over and enjoyed the scenes!
Bharatham is a completely different movie with some heavy melodrama...I havent seen such an "underplay" in any other movie....but I also felt "why did he act like this...any normal man would react more than this at that situation"at certain scenes..anyway thats typical lal style of being verrrrrrry subtle.remember he got national award for this movie!

elipathayam(by adoor gopalakrishnan) - I already knew the story and read abt "why the movie is soooo great?"...so while watching the movie Im not wondered by the scenes that are meant to be wondered!but onething, the acting is too slow at times...if u watch the movie u would understand!in a scene the protagonist will take 1 min for his hand to reach his "meesai" to dye that!is it deliberate or what?...anyway as they all call ...its a classic(edhukku vambu...nammalum accept pannidalam hehe).just kidding...u would love the concept if u dint read it before!

Its good to watch malayalam movies as they mostly dont make us to read subtitles...normally they are understandable!then the locations-heavenly!wherever u place the camera in kerala...thats a beauty(I meant the nature...romba yosikaadheenga).
